Can I Reuse a Condom?

By Alpro Pharmacy

December 8, 2022

Condoms should never be reused, not even once, not even when you’re having sex with the same partner. Condoms are designed to be one-and-done: disposable after just one use.

The Risk of Exposure to STDs and STIs is Higher

The basic purpose of condoms is to prevent the transmission of infections from one person to another. If a person is reusing a condom with the same partner and they have an STD/STI, there’s a risk that those fluids could come out of the condom and put their partner at risk of infection. Even if they wash the condom out, viruses are microscopic, so there’s no way of knowing for sure that it all came off in the wash.

Risk of Pregnancy Is Higher

If you reuse a condom then the latex will be weakened and compromised and is therefore much more prone to rips and tears resulting in unwanted pregnancies.

Fitting Problems

Putting on a reused condom may not fit properly as the lubrication is probably lost during the wash. In addition, wearing a too tight or loose condom may spill out the fluid during the intercourse which can cause infections.

Always opt for new condoms to enjoy every intercourse without any mishaps. You can easily get condoms at any Alpro pharmacies or order them online without worrying about being disclosed of purchasing brands or items.
