Abbott Prosure Vanilla is gluten- and lactose-free.

Prosure is a specialized nutrition and energy beverage especially designed to help normalize metabolism and promote gain in weight and help build lean body mass (LBM) in people experiencing tumour-induced weight loss. A clinical study among people with cancer showed that drinking Prosure daily as part of overall care promoted weight gain, helped build muscle, improved quality of life, increased physical activity level and increased strength in those who gained weight.

Prosure is a therapeutic nutrition, high protein, energy dense, oral nutritional formula enriched with eicosopentaenoic acid (EPA) 1.1 g/serving. Drink 2 servings daily as a supplement to diet. Specific nutrients are modified to meet the needs of people with this condition: Increased phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, vitamins E and C, and folic acid.

Indications/Uses

For use in cancer patients. It is a 1.25 kcal/mL high protein, complete, balanced liquid supplement enriched with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.

Dosage/Direction for Use

To prepare a 240-mL feeding, add 75 g of powder (9 scoops or 3 large scoops) to 100 mL of water. Stir in an additional 90 mL of water. When mixed as directed, Prosure provides approximately 1.26 kCal/mL. Unused portion must be refrigerated and used within 24 hrs. A 380 g can of powder yields approximately five 240-mL servings. Once opened, cover and put in a cool, dry place. Use within 2 weeks.
