Preparation Instructions
1. Place the cleaned milk bottle and its accessories into the water.
Ensure that the bottle and accessories are fully submerged so that no air bubbles are trapped.
2. Cover the pot with a lid. Heat the water until it boils. Make sure the water does not boil until it dries up.
3. Wash your hands with soap and water and dry them with a clean cloth or kitchen towel.
4. Read the instructions on the formula milk label to determine the required amount of water and formula. Using more or less formula than directed on the label may make your baby ill.
5. Pour the boiled water in the correct amount into the cleaned and sterilized feeding bottle. The water temperature for preparing formula milk should not be less than 70°C. For home preparation, this temperature can be achieved by letting the boiled water sit at room temperature for no more than 30 minutes. If using a thermometer, use a clean and sterile non-mercury thermometer.
Be careful to avoid scalding. The water temperature may vary depending on the preparation method of each formula milk.
6. Add the correct amount of formula milk into the bottle that already contains water. Shake the bottle to ensure the milk and water are thoroughly mixed.
7. Cool down the milk by holding the bottle under running tap water or placing it in a container of cold or iced water. To prevent contamination, ensure the water level used for cooling does not reach above the bottle cap.
8. Check the milk temperature by dripping a little onto your wrist. The milk should feel warm, not hot. If it still feels hot, cool it further before feeding your baby.
9. Discard any leftover milk or milk that has been exposed to air for more than two hours.
