🏆 Community Initiative of the Year: SilverSneakers

At Alpro Pharmacy, we believe aging should never be defined by limitation. For many Malaysian seniors, the journey toward active living is often hindered by fear of injury or a lack of proper guidance. To bridge this gap, Alpro Silvercare partnered with Believe Fitness to launch the SilverSneakers Programme: a first 6 months sponsored professionally guided initiative designed specifically for those aged 55 and above.

By combining physiotherapy expertise with fitness coaching, SilverSneakers offers twice-weekly sessions that improve strength, balance, and confidence in a motivating social environment. The impact has been extraordinary:

  • 95% Retention Rate: A testament to the vibrant community we've built.

  • Measurable Progress, Redefining Capability: Members have strengthened their mobility, balance, and functional independence, empowering them to live more confidently and actively each day. 

  • Life-Changing Impact: Within just five months, nearly 300 seniors joined, proving that with the right support, our golden generation can grow stronger and safer every day.

🏆 Health and Wellness of the Year: The Project :D

Closing the Preventive Care Gap through Health Equity. Vitamin D plays a critical role in bone health, mental wellbeing, and pregnancy support, yet screening has historically remained inaccessible due to high costs. Alpro Pharmacy recognised that effective healthcare must be both equitable and actionable.

This vision led to the launch of Project :D. Through a strategic RM1.6 million investment, we deployed point-of-care analysers across all 300 Alpro Pharmacy touchpoints nationwide. By offering a subsidised RM1 test for high-risk groups, we transformed an expensive diagnostic into a community standard.

  • National Impact: Over 46,940 Malaysians screened to date.

  • Clinical Excellence: 1,500 trained professionals provide personalised counselling and follow-up care.

  • Evidence-Based: Ongoing research collaborations with IMU and UiTM ensure our model is grounded in local data. More than 70% of deficient individuals are now actively managed, closing the "test-without-treatment" gap and delivering real-world health outcomes.
