What Is Retatrutide?

Retatrutide is an experimental, investigational medication currently being studied for the management of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

While current weight management injections target one or two hormone pathways in your body, Retatrutide is a "triple-agonist" (nicknamed the "triple-G" drug). It targets three different receptors at once to manage appetite, improve how your body handles sugar, and increase resting energy expenditure:

  • GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1)
  • GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide)
  • Glucagon
