Are You in a High-Risk Group?

Pregnant & Nursing Mothers

Essential for supporting the baby’s bone and brain development.

Adults & Seniors (50+)

Ageing skin becomes less efficient at producing Vitamin D from sunlight.

Darker Skin Tones

Higher melanin levels act as a natural sunblock, slowing Vitamin D production.

Overweight Individuals

Excess body fat can trap Vitamin D, reducing the amount that enters the bloodstream.

Working Adults

Indoor work hours prevent you from getting sufficient daily sun exposure.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Got questions about Vitamin D or Project :D? We’ve answered the most common ones to help you feel confident before your test.

Project :D is a nationwide Vitamin D awareness and screening initiative by Alpro Pharmacy in collaboration with Powerlife, International Medical University (IMU), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). It aims to help Malaysians understand their Vitamin D levels, identify deficiency early, and take simple steps to improve overall health and happiness.

Vitamin D plays a vital role in maintaining strong bones, a healthy immune system, and overall well-being. It’s also known as the “sunshine vitamin” because our body produces it when exposed to sunlight. Low Vitamin D levels are linked to tiredness, frequent illness, mood changes, poor sleep, and muscle weakness.

You should consider a Vitamin D test if you:

  • Spend most of your time indoors or use sunscreen often
  • Have darker skin or wear covered clothing
  • Experience tiredness, mood swings, or muscle aches
  • Are pregnant, elderly, or frequently fall sick
  • Take cholesterol or diabetes medicines (e.g. statins or metformin)

The test is a simple finger-prick blood test done at selected Alpro Pharmacies. Results are available within minutes, and our healthcare team will guide you on what your level means and what actions to take next.

The test is offered at a special subsidised rate of RM 1* (worth RM 35), fully supported by Alpro Pharmacy’s preventive health initiative and partners. *RM1 is only applicable for high-risk individuals, first come first serve basis. For low-risk individuals, you may enjoy the test at partial subsidised rate - RM15. (T&Cs apply).
