Powerlife Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is a sunshine vitamin for immunity health. It contains the same biological form of vitamin D produced by our body. It is a fat soluble vitamin, which means it is only dissolved in oil.
Generally, vitamin D comes in 2 main forms, Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Most of the research shows that Vitamin D3 is more effective in absorption compared to vitamin D2.
Vitamin D3 is unique as it can be made naturally through the sunlight exposure. It is important in bone growth by maintaining blood level of calcium and phosphorus, increase their absorption by 30-40% and 80% respectively.
Besides that, Vitamin D plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of diseases as it involves in the immune system, nervous system, cardiovascular system and endocrine system. The lesser the sunlight exposure, the lesser the Vitamin D in the body and results to lower immunity and more illness.
Study reveal that shows that 8 out of 10 healthy adolescents in Malaysia are suffering from vitamin D deficiency. However, it is very important to get this sunshine vitamin for immunity health.
