Introduction

Plastic bags, something that we take for granted. Every time when we go out to buy anything, we are expected to have plastic bags to hold all our items. Do we know that a single plastic needs approximately 700 years to start breaking down? Furthermore, plastic bag also does not fully break down, it turns into microplastics that will continue to pollute the environment. According to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) said that there are over 300 million tons of plastic produced in a year and out of the 300 million, 8 million tons of that will end up in the ocean every year. Around 80% of all the marine debris are plastics and it be found everywhere, from the bottom of the ocean to floating above the ocean.

What is Alpro doing?

In Alpro, we want to do our part in helping out and raise the awareness on this unfortunate matter. We will be running a “Shop with Alpro Green Bag” campaign by selling a recycle bag, named Alpro Green Bag with the size of 58cm (W) x 44cm (H) x 14cm (D).

This campaign is targeted at creating environmental awareness in Malaysian shoppers, by educating them on the ecologically damaging impact of plastic waste with hopes of encouraging them to take reusable bags when they go shopping to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic bags that harm the marine life.

This campaign will provide you with an additional 50 Alpro points with a minimum spend of RM10 when you shop with Alpro Green Bag in any of our outlets.

What can you do?

In conjunction of the World Environment week from 5th of June until 11th of June, you can get the Alpro Green Bag at a 50% discount (RM 2.50), make sure you get yours on that date because after 11th of June 2022, it will go back to its original price which is RM 5.
