Official Opening of the First Alpro スギ Pharmacy in Malaysia: Japanese-styled Drugstore poised to uplift healthcare landscape in SEA

Alpro Group, the holding company of Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain – Alpro Pharmacy, and Sugi Holdings Co., Ltd, a leading Japanese pharmacy chain with 1,600 stores, announce the official opening of its first Japanese-styled drugstore, Alpro スギ Pharmacy, in Malaysia.

Located at The Starling Mall, the sprawling 3,888 sq. ft store is a milestone for the joint venture inked in 2022, which promised to introduce a new dimension of healthcare services that goes beyond traditional pharmacy offerings to better support the local community’s health.

Chief Executive Officer of Alpro Group, Ph. Low Swee Siong, said, “Today’s grand opening of Alpro スギ Pharmacy is the outcome of more than a year of hard work and a testament to our commitment to providing a new type of pharmacy that delivers health, trust, security and safety to consumers.

While we are set to open more Japanese-styled drugstores locally, we are also planning to expand the business across Southeast Asia to countries such as Brunei, Singapore, and Indonesia.”

The second Alpro スギ Pharmacy is slated to open its doors to the public this weekend at Paradigm Mall, Johor Bahru.

Both stores will receive ‘Same Day Release’ of acclaimed ‘Made in Japan’ health and beauty products and ingenious homecare and baby care products, right here in Malaysia.
